Year 10 in Computer Science Education Week!
December 5th - 11th
Our Year 10 students took part in Computer Science Education Week. CSEdWeek is an annual call to action to inspire students to learn computer science, advocate for equity in computer science education, and celebrate the contributions of students, teachers, and partners to the field.
The CSEdWeek theme this year highlighted the progress that has occurred in Computer Science education over the last decade. There have been many great advancements in making Computer Science education more equitable and accessible for all learners.
The week was kicked off by a range of panellists that discussed their own journeys to computer science, what inspired them, and their recommendations for how we can continue to advance, so that every student has an equal opportunity to learn Computer Science. The panellists include Okezue Bell, Yim Register, Kayla Saniya Fortson, and Daisy Murillo.
As part of CSEdWeek, our Year 10 students led an hour long hands-on experience to break down fears and stereotypes of Computer Science. Students chose from 700 activities to inspire and explore, play and create with Computer Science.
