WELCOME TO FALL! Tomorrow when you walk in the building, you will be taking the next step in your journey - for some of you, it is the beginning of your high school career, and for others, the final first day of school. As more layers of responsibility in your life add in, BALANCE is going to be your key to success. You will be able to find a way to get it all done, and it might not happen right away, but many before you have done it and many after you will do it based on what they have learned from you.
We're coming off of an excellent band camp with possibly the best camp weather I've ever seen (minus the heat during that last block...) RETENTION of the work we've done is what matters the most. This Friday we will preview the first portion of the show up through the meteor strike. HAVE YOU BEEN PRACTICING? Relatively light schedule for the week, but lots of details in the update today.

Thursday - After school rehearsal, 6 PM pickup
We will likely start around 3:15 this day due to first day campus traffic. Otherwise, we should aim to begin at 3.
8th Grade Members - report to Mr. Massaro's room at the end of the school day and we will walk up together.
Friday - Football Home vs Camden
After school - eat/relax (Wawa runs permitted, 2 TO A CAR. Eating in cafeteria ONLY.)
3:50 PM - dress/hair up. Shakos in tonight.
4:40 PM - Pre-Game/Varsity/National Anthem review (double lines, courtyard)
4:50 PM - photo out front of school
5:00 PM - lined up/march to stadium
5:40 PM - Pregame Show/tunnel/National Anthem
tonight's game is the Salute to Service game,
all military flags will be presented by ROTC
6:00 PM - Kickoff!
6:45 PM (est.) - HALFTIME PERFORMANCE! (pretzels provided after)
8:30 PM (est.) - Game ends/return to band room

Camden usually shows up with a PHENOMENAL band and cheer team... take notes and represent well!
Saturday - Rehearsal 9 AM-4:30 PM (lunch 12-1, Pit Crew Training 1-approx 2:30, pickup 4:45 PM)
New Event: Swedesboro 9/11 Ceremony (Hornline Only)
We have been invited to perform the National Anthem and God Bless America at the 9/11 Ceremony this coming Wednesday. A steel beam from Ground Zero will be unveiled at borough hall. The ceremony begins at 6:30 PM. We will report to the school at 5:15 to get dressed/warm up, board the bus at 6 and perform (center of Swedesboro, same location as Dragon Run across from Heritages). We should be back by 7:30. Please let me know ASAP if you cannot attend.
Thanksgiving Parade Payment
As discussed at our August parent meeting, payment for the Thanksgiving trip is due to the boosters on 9/10 (next Tues). If you need extra time, please communicate this to the Band Boosters via email at kingswaybandboosters@gmail.com.

Important Reminders
Pit Crew Training will be held this Saturday at 1 PM. Interested parents should report to the band room if you are interested in helping with the pit this season.
