We are entering three of the most important weeks of the season! We've had plenty of talks about what is needed to be successful and now it's time to put it into action. Right now is a great time to review the Master Schedule and ensure all of your upcoming dates for this month and the fall are correct, as well as make sure you have all required equipment. Believe it or not, there are only 11 days before our first football game and 26 days before we perform our show for the first time at the Friends/Family Preview!

This Week's Schedule
TUESDAY/THURSDAY MINI CAMP, FULL BAND 1-9. Dinner break at 4. Hornline/Battery/Guard will begin marching drill outside! Kona Ice Thursday afternoon! Our first full ensemble rehearsal will be Thursday night followed by our band camp talk and Big/Little reveals!
District
Athletic Fee - an email was sent from the school district regarding payment of the athletic fee which is due this Friday, 8/18. Please see that email for further instructions.
Cleared List - we currently have 77/102 members cleared. Check here to see if your name is on the list, and if not, please be sure to be in communication with me about where you are in the process!
Boosters
Spirit Store - our spirit store has plenty of items and is currently live at this link, but only until next Monday 8/21! Place your orders now to have your KRMB merch for the fall, don't wait!
Booster Venmo/Thanksgiving Payments - The new booster Venmo is live @KingswayBandBoosters. Parents can now send the $85 Thanksgiving payment and any other BOOSTER related payments (not the Athletic Fee) to this account!
Miscellaneous
State Championships Rain Date: Sunday 11/5 - NJMBDA has scheduled a rain date for state championships for the following Sunday (the day after nationals) with the location TBD. HOPEFULLY WE DON'T HAVE TO USE THIS, but in the event we do, I just wanted to make everyone aware now!
Dragon Run Registration - is now live at this link! For more details, please read last week's update.
Ultimate Drill Book App - this past week the Hornline, Battery and Color Guard received instructions on the new mobile app we will be using to learn our drill this year instead of pencils and paper. All students should be coming to rehearsal with a fully charged phone at all times - keeping a charger in your bag will also be helpful!

Some Thoughts from Massaro
Something I want everyone to be aware of - our final performance of the season at National Championships is on a huge stage. Click here to see how many bands are at the event and in our division. We can never change what another band does, only ourselves, and of course we want to be great at our final show. We are currently on the road to that stage, and the only way way we can truly maximize our championship performance is if we start now. It's not about Nationals, it's about right now. It's not about the end, it's about the journey getting there. It's not about winning every time, it's about small victories and being better than you were yesterday. Put in the work step by step each and every day and put trust in the process that IT WILL PAY OFF! LET'S GO!!!
