September Week 4 - Dragon Run
Can you believe it's already the last week of September?! This season is flying by... let's hold onto every moment. From here to the end, the goal is to MAXIMIZE EVERYTHING!
Of course this weekend we took a hit with losing our competition, but I'm sure we were all thankful for a well needed afternoon/evening off. I am currently working on a plan to make up the lost show, so stay tuned... as soon as I have confirmed information, you will too!
This week is one of the most special weeks of our season with the Dragon Run coming up. This year may be one of the most special editions we've had - on Thursday, H will be coming to rehearsal to talk to the band about who Nate Boerlin was and the hornline will perform Amazing Grace for the rest of the band. The Boerlin family will then be coming after our regular rehearsal time to run the annual bag stuffing, and they will also be providing some food for us :) Regular Friday followed by an early morning Saturday at the Run! Please plan to come to the opening ceremony and support this amazing event in honor of a past Marching Band student who embodied every characteristic we strive for every day.
This Week's Schedule
Tuesday - after school rehearsal, pickup 6:15 PM
Thursday - after school rehearsal/Dragon Run Bag Stuffing - PICKUP 7:15 (food provided by Boerlins)
Friday - Away Game at Eastern/Sectional Rehearsals
GUARD and FRONT ENSEMBLE - rehearsing 3:15-6
Hornline/Battery
After school - eat/break
4:00 PM - dressed in halves/load buses
4:30 PM - depart Kingsway
5:15 PM - arrive at Eastern/unload/take seats
6:00 PM - Game Begins
8:45 PM~ - game ends/load buses/depart
9:30 PM~ - arrive at Kingsway/unload/dismissal/IMMEDIATE SLEEP
Saturday - Dragon Run!
Downtown Swedesboro
6:15 AM - Band Room Open
6:30 AM - Students Report - Dragon Run shirt/black shorts
6:45 AM - Load buses/depart ASAP/warm up
8:00 AM - Dragon Run Opening Ceremony Performances (equipment back to buses after ceremony)
8:30 AM - Race Begins!
9:45 AM - Race Awards Ceremony (grab equipment after)
10:15 AM - lined up for Swedesboro Woolwich Day Parade
10:30 AM - SW Day Opening Performance (load after)
11:00 AM - Buffet Lunch at Botto's with Boerlin Family (hang at SW day after)
1:00 PM - Return to school (optionally stay at SW day if communicated)
1:30 PM - Dismissal

As discussed with the band prior to dismissal on Saturday, the Farmingdale High School Marching Band from Long Island, NY suffered a tragedy recently. All of our band members have signed a card for Farmingdale which will be mailed up to them this week. I ask that you keep this band close to your heart this season and please appreciate every moment we have together.Â
