Marching Band Members and Parents,
I hope everyone enjoyed Homecoming Weekend and took some time to recharge and have fun! October at Kingsway is a timeless month where memories are made to last a lifetime. Speaking of that... it's home show week, and the icing on the cake is WE WILL BE RETURNING TO ACTION NEWS AT 10 AM THIS THURSDAY!
This year's feature will be different from last year's - we will be featured as part of the "Philadelphia Thanksgiving Parade Press Conference", which will truly kick off the city's anticipation for the parade. We will be featured playing three times on the air, between greetings from people such as Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker, 6ABC and Dunkin' executives, and more! This is an unbelievably honorable event for us to attend. We said last year's feature was "once in a lifetime"... so to be invited back a second time is just surreal. We are the sole band representing New Jersey in the parade this year, and when anyone who knows of Kingsway sees us on TV, we help spread the positive impact all our school and band program have to offer.
After that, it's full speed ahead for Home Show! We can now count on two hands the amount of run-throughs of the show that are remaining. Home Show will be our final local performance of the show. This is your last chance to get your friends and family, who have or haven't seen the show, to see all of the hard work you put in this season! All ticket sales/profits benefit the band - SPREAD THE WORD!

Tuesday - after school rehearsal, pickup 6:00 PM
*DRUMLINE: L1 - cadence for Logan Students Welcome: North Courtyard, 11 AM
Thursday - Action News at 10 AM; after school rehearsal, pickup 6:00 PM
Start of school day: report to band room/dress in uniform/equipment to curb
8:30 AM: buses arrive, immediately load/depart
9:15 AM: arrive at 6ABC studio, work out logistics and prepare for performance
10:00 AM: news begins
11:00 AM~: photo opp, change out of uniform, pizza (provided)
12:00 PM: depart studio
12:45 PM: arrive back at Kingsway/unload/return to class
Friday - Away Game at Williamstown/Sectional Rehearsals
FRONT ENSEMBLE: rehearsal 3-6
GUARD: rehearsal 3-5*

After school - eat/break (Wawa runs permitted, 2 TO A CAR. Eating in cafeteria ONLY.)
3:45 PM - sectional rehearsals (Horn Seniors - National Anthem)
4:50 PM - load buses
5:20 PM - depart Kingsway
6:00 PM - arrive at Williamstown/dress/unload/take seats
7:00 PM - game begins
9:30 PM~ - game ends/load buses/depart
10:30 PM - arrive at Kingsway/unload/dismissal
Saturday - HOME SHOW!!!
Full Show Schedule - 201 Kings Highway, Woolwich Township, NJ 08085
9:00 AM - rehearsal begins (lunch 12-1, bring own)
3:45 PM - rehearsal ends, eat at stadium (provided)
By 4:45 PM - back in band room to dress
5:00 PM - gates open for spectators, grab a good seat and support all bands!
5:30 PM - move to warmup
5:45 PM - abbreviated warmup, middle school fields
5:55 PM - national anthem, then first band
6:30 PM - move
6:45 PM - gate
7:00 PM - DREADNOUGHTUS // FEARS NOTHING (exhibition)
7:30 PM - awards
7:45 PM - show done: help with cleanup, change out of uniform
8:30 PM - approximate dismissal
Looking Ahead: USBands National Championships, Sunday 11/3
We will be performing between 6 and 7:30 PM with awards being held at 8 PM (ending the competitive season under the lights!). Please anticipate our return/dismissal being between 11 PM and midnight - note there is no school the next day for students. Click here to see the all of bands that will be performing at Nationals in J. Birney Crum Stadium, Allentown PA in two weeks.
Additionally, please be reminded that after school rehearsals next week will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, and there will be NO after school rehearsal on the day of Halloween.
