Governing Board Meeting Notice
Notice is hereby given that the King-Chavez Academy of Excellence, Inc. (“King-Chavez Neighborhood of Schools”) will hold a regular meeting as listed below.
Date: June 14, 2017
Time: 4:30 p.m.
Location: King-Chavez Primary, Arts and Athletics Academies Library, 415 31st Street, San Diego CA 92102
Public input on specific agenda items and those items not on the agenda – Any person of the public desiring to speak shall be allowed to speak during public comment time and has the option of speaking once on any agenda item when it is being discussed. Speaking time shall generally be limited to three minutes, unless a longer period is permitted by the Board President. Agenda speakers will be limited five minutes.

4. Approval of action minutes for meeting dated March 8, 2017.
5. Information / Action - CEO update verbal report including operations, facilities, academics, new Board Members, new and updated policies.
5.a - Nomination and election of new board member, Jennifer Medina.
5.b - Nomination and election of new board member, Jesus Poza.
5.c – Appointment of Board Member David Massey as Secretary and Treasurer.
5.d - Update Uniform Complaint Policy to include Title IX provisions pursuant to SB1375.
5.f – Adopt Student Record Policy
5.g – Adoption of College Readiness Block Grant Plan
5.h – Approval of updated employee handbook for the 2017-18 school year.
6. Information / Action – Financial Controller update verbal report including financials, budget to actuals, budgets and forecast.
6.a – Approve Local Control Accountability Plans (LCAP) for the 2017-18 School Year for all King-Chavez Charter Schools
6.b - Approve Single School District Plans (SSDP) for the 2017-18 School Year for all King-Chavez Charter Schools
6.c – Approve Educational Protection Accounts (EPA) for all King-Chavez Charter Schools
6.d – Approve Consolidate application for Federal funding and protective prayer for all King-Chavez charter schools
6.e - Approve Consolidated Budget for 2017-18 School Year including individual Charter School Budgets for Each King Chavez Charter School and preapproved vendor lists for accounts over $25,000.
6.f – Approval of resolution of Sped Reallocation plan
6.g – Approval of P2 attendance reports for the 2016-17 school year for all King-Chavez charter schools.
6.h - Resolution approving Preschool Contract with the California Department of Education authorizing Tim Wolf as the designated person to sign contract documents for the 2017-18 fiscal year.
6.i - Approval of auditor engagement letter with VTD Auditors and accountants.
6.j - Resolution informing CalPERS of King-Chavez intent to withdraw from CalPERS.
6.k – Approval of Mandated Block Grant funding.
