Governing Board Meeting Notice

Notice is hereby given that the King-Chavez Academy of Excellence, Inc. (“King-Chavez Neighborhood of Schools”) will hold a regular meeting as listed below.

Date: September 2, 2015

Time: 4:30 p.m.

Location: King-Chavez Preparatory Academy, 500 30^th Street, San Diego CA 92102

Public input on specific agenda items and those items not on the agenda – Any person of the public desiring to speak shall be allowed to speak during public comment time and has the option of speaking once on any agenda item when it is being discussed. Speaking time shall generally be limited to three minutes, unless a longer period is permitted by the Board President. Agenda speakers will be limited five minutes.

Information Items

5. Information - CEO update verbal report including finance, academics and community.

6. Information – CFO update verbal report including financials, budget to actuals,, cash flow and lines of credit.

7, Information – COO Facilities update including all King-Chavez locations

Action Items

8. Action - Approval of resolution specifically approving Cindy Kelley to apply for the preschool license at King Chavez Sherman Preschool.

9. Action – Adoption of unaudited actual financial reports for all academies for the 2014-15 school year.

10. Action – Approval of updated employee handbook

11. Action - Approval of resolution to stop pursuing Western Association and Schools and Colleges (WASC) accreditation for King-Chavez Schools serving grades K-8.

12. Action – Approval of resolution to apply for affiliation with National Council of La Raza (NCLR).
