Contenders Class 2021 Jubilee School RAZ Avatar Fashion Show!
Happy Easter, everyone!
We hope that everybody is enjoying the return of springtime weather! The first month is finished and it is time for new challenges. April's reading challenge is for our students to set a goal of total books read. Our reading folders have a few news things inside of them, so check it out! If your student need more worksheets of any kind, inform your Jubilee School contact and we can have the worksheet(s) ready! Ask your student if they are comfortable with their RAZ level and use these publications in their book count. This month is an excellent opportunity to set high goals and watch our students achieve them! Confidence is key! :-)
The student-parent-teacher contracts should be signed and handed in ASAP. :-)
The "2021 Jubilee School RAZ Avatar Fashion Show" is quickly approaching! Finish designing your avatar by April 13. We will screenshot students' RAZ avatars on April 14 and begin making a PowerPoint presentation for every class. The PowerPoint presentations will be shown in-class the week of April 19-23. We will have a look at avatars and give rewards for the winners of the following categories...
Scariest Avatar
Toughest Looking Avatar
Prettiest Avatar
Cutest Avatar
Best Robot
Funniest Avatar
…and much more! Do YOU have an idea for a category?? Tell your English teacher before and/or the day of the fashion show!

Reading Contract
Our students can make a pledge to read a certain amount of pages in any given month. In the image to the left, we can see that our student, "Mr. Rivers" has agreed to read 50 pages for the month of March. Also, Mr. Rivers has checked some boxes. He has elected to: "Give an Oral Report", "Write a Summary", and "Draw a picture". Our students can select which activity they want to complete after they finish reading their book(s). Students can select one, two, three, four, or five boxes! Wow! Feeling overwhelmed? Perhaps check one box for the next month. The student will sign, a parent will sign, and the teacher will sign the agreement BEFORE the beginning of the month. We can do it!
This is good way to set and achieve goals TOGETHER. The reader (student), foreign teacher, and parent will agree with the set goals and sign the Reading Contract. Wow! The students will build confidence when realizing that they have made
This calendar is a cool way to keep track of the students' reading time. The parent and/or teacher can color the object after completing twenty minutes of reading every day. Did your student read English language book(s) for twenty minutes? Then color the object for the day! Did they read Korean language book(s) for twenty minutes today? Color in the object! Did your student(s) read a combination of English AND Korean books? Great! Our students can color by selves or with the help of their parent(s).
Our students will take their monthly calendar home at the beginning of every month. They will return it in their folder at the end of every month. The student and parent will sign the calendar. This is a good way to bond with our students. Your students will think, "Wow, my mom/dad and I completed and signed this TOGETHER!"
Announcements and rewards will be earned in class. Did your student(s) read twenty minutes EVERY DAY? AWESOME? Did they read more days this month than LAST MONTH? GREAT!
