If you are in the area of Red Cliffs Elementary (RCE) when students are coming and/or leaving school, please read this message. It is RCE’s number one goal to have children be able to come to school and return home safely. We have done several things to make RCE a safe place, and we will continue to keep making it even safer. As of now, we need your help so students can come and leave RCE safely. If you would please help out by doing the following:
If your child is on foot going to or from school:
1. Make sure they use the crosswalks if it is available.
2. Get off their bike to cross the street.
3. Look both ways before they cross the street; if a car is coming they have to make sure the car is
stopped before they cross.
If you are driving:
1. Stop at all stop signs.
2. Do not go faster than 25 miles an hour.
3. If a student is standing by the cross walk, both directions of traffic has to stop until the student
is completely out of the crosswalk.
4. No U-turns!
5. Keep your eyes open and pay close attention to everything.
We understand it might take you a few seconds longer to get to where you are going. The good news is that you will not get pulled over for breaking the law and most of all you will not hit a child. Please help us keep these wonderful children safe as they travel to and from school.
