In attendance: Principal Richard Pay, Brandi Webster, Holly Hall, Kayla Veater, Susan Hanson, Loretta Cressey, Linda Hanks, Andrea Echols
Discussed iPads for the 2018/2019 school year, where the greatest need was. Decided that six grade had the greatest need, because of the programs they need to run on their iPads. There was a question on if we would get any passed down from the high school by the district. Waiting for more information regarding that. Fifth grade also needs new iPads, as well as kindergarten requesting new iPads. The total of all iPads, including cases, we are in need of comes to $31,900.
Discussed the need to keep our music instructor.
Discussion if we would continue to pay for a reading tutor, what progress has been made. Also discussed what online resources are being used currently, for example, Waterford, Lexia, reading plus, etc.
Discussion on hiring a math tutor. What grades they would focus on, and what the cost would be.
Discussion on teacher prep time and teacher PD. Decided that was something we wanted to continue.
Supplies are needed for ELA, math and science. $500 per grade would be needed for that.
Discussion on after school club activities, for example, coding, robotics, drama, Lego club, etc. Questions if that was something the local 4H would/could do, or another community volunteer.
Discussion on hiring a full or part-time teacher, or instructional assistant for fifth grade. Noting it would only be a one year contract.
No official voting was done at this meeting. Next meeting February 20, 2018.
