Welcome – Principal Mecham In attendance: Kami Crump, Kay Pettit, Mrs. Langford, Loretta Cressey, Tammy Shepherd, Mrs. Owens, Lynette Harmon and Mr. Mecham
Introduction of SCC Parent and Staff Members
Informational/Training Items:
Mr. Mecham asked the School Community Council if they agree with Kami Crump being the Chair and Loretta Cressey being the Vice Chair. Mr. Mecham made the motion and it was seconded by Harmony Langford.
What is a Community Council? Opening Training Video Mr. Mecham made a motion to us watching the video on our own. Heather Owens seconded that motion.
School Trustland Best Practices Mr. Mecham said that in the future he will have the agenda out to the committee 10 days in advance. We needed 3 positions filled and we received 3 nominations. Minutes will be on the school website. Members of the committee contact information must be posted on the website according to the State Law.
SCC Rules of Order and Procedure- see attached We receive roughly 100,000.00 dollars to be spent. Money from the state that parents decide how it will be spent. Parent driven. ROBERTS RULE OF ORDER handout was given to everyone. Must have 2 more parents than staff to vote.
Review of 2019-2020 Trustland Plan Implementation: see attached Everyone was given a copy.
Digital Safety Assembly- SCC decides what we want to do with this.
School Community Council Training opportunity – see attached
Needed items: Improved sound systems $1,500.00 per classroom.
Motion to amend Goal 1 Action Item 5 by Kami Crump Seconded by Kay Pettit.
Professional Development $ - $6,000.00 We have spent $2,500.00 on a tough kids training, a dyslexia training.
Goal 3 Music instruction. $19,000.00 Mrs. Garrett $1,000.00 for new equipment.
Surplus $600.00 we can put that to printing supplies. We can assign that as needed. This is where we want the money to go.
7. Assembly - Mr. Mecham motioned for Brandon Harrison to do our assembly on Internet safety. It is free and he is engaging. Mrs. Langford and Loretta Cressey seconded it at the same time.
8. If anyone wants SCC training, there are trainings available in Price, Vernal, Roosevelt and Salt Lake. Let Mr. Mecham know if you are interested.
Infinity D learning was brought up by Kami Crump.
