Mr Mecham discussed the proposed TSSA plan. The proposed budget amount is $60,000. Wanting to use $42,000 for SalaryStipends - Certified Personnel and $18,000 for Certified Personnel. There wll be approximately 25 students per class which creates a more effective learning environment. As a result, students will show growth in 2020 Spring Rise date. We are anticipating a minimum of a 5% increase in student proficiency on Spring RISE Assessments in ELA, Math, and Science when compared to these students 4th grade scores.
Spring 2020 RISE Assessment data will be used to determine the actual results of our class-size reduction goal.
The state requires we discuss our TSSA Plan with SCC.

Review of 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades percentage of students passing. Goal is to Increase by 5%

Brandon Harrison is scheduled on November 25th. Grades 3-5 Assembly 8:45-9:15. K-2 at 9:30-10:00. SCC and parents are welcome to attend.
The assembly will go over digital safety, a good reminder for students to be careful on the internet and would be a good thing for everyone to go through the training .. Discussed sending notes home to invite all those that would like to attend. Geared toward kids but the parents will know what they have been taught. It is on the agenda that parents are welcome. Mr. Mecham will put on Parent Link.
5. Review 2018-2019 Trustlands Final Report
Mr. Mecham handed out final report from last years 2018-2019. Plan included that teachers were paid $25 per hour for 30 hours of non-contracted time. Two Instructional Assistants were hired to help students with the highest needs and also 50 new iPads with cases were purchased in specific grade levels & classrooms. Each grade level also received $500 to buy instructional materials for students.
6. 2019-2020 Trustlands Plan Progress
Spent $2,500 dollars this year for the dyslexia conference and the tough kids training.
Music instruction (Mrs. Garrett) $19,000 and $1,000 for new equipment
We ammended this year’s plan goal 1 action item 5 to purchase technology related products. Two sound systems have been purchased. District is looking for other options for future.
7. School Community Council Training Videos can be found at:

Mr. Mecham asked to please watch videos if you get a chance.
8. 2019 Trustlands Surplus Funds: Where do we want these funds to go?
Be thinking about that.
9. InfiniD Lab
It is a science grant and the program will be paid for from the grant. We would have to pay for licences. They want to come in and do a small presentation to explain it. Mr. Mecham said it sounds like a great idea, he has talked to Nebo View who is using it. Very engaging and the students love it. It would gear towards 4th & 5th grades. The grant will cover set up & supplies. It would be worthwhile to have them present it to see if that would be a good idea. Would have to write into plan for next year. The SCC agreed that it would be a great idea.
Mr. Mecham made a motion to approve, Heather Owens and Kay Pettit seconded it. Motion passed.
10. Misc. Items
Proposal from Kami Crump of when to have next SCC meeting. Everyone agreed with Jan 15th at 3:30 p.m.
Action Items:
11. 2019 Surplus Funds
$6,807 of trustland money left from last year.
State said we can put that money wherever we want to put it.
Proposal from Mr. Mecham. From the $6,807 that was left over from last year he would like to use $2,000 of that into technology and $4,807 into professional development. He feels like the more professional development for teachers the better.
Mr. Mecham said he would like to take a group of teachers to a school in St. George that was just named a blue ribbon school. They are doing things with interventions, and instructional assistants. It’s great to see teachers observe other teachers.
Motion to pass by Kami Crump, seconded by Harmony Langford.
