Ralston Valley was well represented at the 5A state swim and dive meet this week. The 400 free relay team took 12th at the state meet with a time of 3:38.68. Cassidy Boggus, Lili Neisser, Madison Voytko, and Alyssa Gonci jumped two spots from their preliminary seeding of 14th. Jojo Okamoto took 5th in diving. So great to see a Mustang on the podium. Additionally, in diving freshman Sophia Hineline placed 14th, and senior, Sophie Trudell placed 27th.

Also, at state this week, the Mustang Wrestling team has already won five matches with senior Josh Horsley and freshman Lincoln Gregersen taking victories in the 1st round on Thursday. Friday afternoon both wrestlers won decisions to move on to the semifinals Friday night at 6:30 p.m. Senior, Mateo Rivera lost his first match, but rebounded Friday to win his first round consolation match.

Big conference wins for the Hockey team this week starting with a 5-1 victory over Standley Lake on Monday followed by Thursday's win over Monarch; 5-3. With a victory tonight against Rez Christian on the road, the team will take home a conference title. So proud of this resilient team.

The RV ski season concludes today at the state tournament up in Winter Park for our alpine skiers. Nordic events will be at Snow Mountain Ranch in Granby. Good luck to our girls and boy.

Our boys basketball team locked up the league title with a 71-37 win over Columbine Wednesday night. They will play their final regular-season game against Bear Creek in the Mustang Range tonight. The boys should host a 2nd round playoff game next Saturday.

The girls basketball team had a huge win over the Columbine Rebels 57-46 Wednesday. The Rebels who started the week in 2nd place in league standings saw the Mustangs leapfrog Chatfield and Columbine with the win. A Mustang victory against Bear Creek on Friday will secure their 2nd place league finish and likely a first-round by in the playoffs. The girls should host a game at home, next Friday, at 6:00 p.m. in the Mustang Range.

Students engaged in activities and discussion around positive self-talk and then were asked to select several affirming self-talk phrases they could incorporate into their daily lives. This coming Monday, Feb 21, 2022 is a holiday, so no Advisement. The final Monday is February the 28th. On that final day, students will be looking at positive character traits such as integrity, honesty and friendliness.

Medication and Self Screening

A few reminders, please screen or have your students self-screen for any COVID symptoms before sending students to school. Please contact me (Kristie.Charron@jeffco.k12.co.us) for any student with a positive COVID test. If your student will be taking any medication at school, please complete the medication agreement form, have your doctor sign, and return to the nurse (this is also for any over-the-counter medications).

Please also continue to send state allergy, asthma, and seizure plans to myself or our health aide (michelle.hanson@jeffco.k12.co.us) in the main office. If your student has any new or existing health concerns that require a health plan, please contact the nurse so that we can get a health plan in place for your student at school.

I have included the link for the Jeffco Health Services Website which has the necessary forms to complete for medications at school.
