PAUL BATESON
Story-Based Pedagogy for PSHEE
Secondary Drama PGCE Lead, University of Huddersfield, UK
Paul will explore how we might harness a story-based pedagogy to enhance delivery of PSHEE / Citizenship and other aspects of ‘hidden curriculum’ across KS2-5.
This session shares innovative research and practice into how dispositional learning and creative pedagogy can foster wellbeing and creativity among pupils.
Paul will demonstrate practically in a model lesson with colleagues how using dramatic pedagogy; and use of narrative and context in curriculum design and implementation, can teach PSHEE, and nurture, value and promote dispositions; such as agency, care, creativity, collaboration, and courage, in our classrooms.
The session will be optimistic, useful and will offer colleagues ideas to apply to their practice immediately, along with substantial research to support advocacy
