NATHAN BURNS
Developing Independent and Resilient Learners
Mr Metacognition, Limited
Don’t you wish that your students were more resilient and able to work most effectively?
Then this is the session for you!
This session will begin by exploring what we actually want our students to be doing - what does it mean to be resilient, for example?
Having established the characteristics that we want our students to have, the session will then move on to explore a range of different approaches that can help to foster these independent and resilient characteristics in our learners.
Backed by research and observation, each approach will be accompanied with high-quality examples from a range of different subject areas and phases.
Attendees will be able to reconsider the characteristics of an effective independent learner and a resilient learner
Attendees will develop a range of different approaches to use in their classroom to help develop these characteristics
Attendees will be guided on how best to implement these approaches and some key things to look out for.
