Head of Innovation & Media, Ecole Internationale de Mondor-les-Bains, Luxembourg

How do we truly prepare students for lifelong learning?
At the École Internationale de Mondorf-les-Bains, we’ve placed student autonomy and self-regulated learning at the heart of our educational vision.
This session will explore how we design a scaffolded program that equips students to take ownership of their learning journey, leveraging the European Baccalaureate’s 8 Key Competences and the IB’s Approaches to Learning (ATL) framework.
We’ll share successes and challenges from our journey as a young international school, sparking reflection and dialogue about how any school can empower students to thrive.
Session Outcomes:
Practical strategies to build student autonomy step by step, from primary to secondary.
Examples of how we embed metacognition, goal-setting, and reflection into our school culture.
Insights into balancing structure and freedom to support all learners.
