T.A. Blakelock is delighted to announce the arrival of our new co-op head teacher, Mr. Hamilton. With a strong will to educate students and a great amount of teaching experience in several continents, he is ready to take Blakelock’s co-op program to the next level.
Mr. Hamilton brings a wealthy amount of wisdom to his teaching position. Before becoming an educator, he explored several job avenues, such as working at a paper press and a fine wine company. His journey to teaching was established through a scholarship for soccer at the State University of New York, later followed by Lees-McRae College.

Time with loved ones is something Mr. Hamilton takes great value in, and when not at school he thoroughly enjoys spending time with his wife and children. When it comes time to wind down and relax, you’ll most likely find Mr. Hamilton binging the Netflix classics Outer Banks, and The Office (specifically the British version), or unwinding to The Beatles.
Strikingly, Mr. Hamilton is quite fond of musicals. His favorites include Footloose, Fame, Jersey Boys, and, fittingly, Hamilton. Being the busy bee he is, trying out new skills and hobbies is something he takes pride in. If it were not for a lack of space in his backyard, Mr. Hamilton would be harvesting honey and saving the bees in the comfort of his own home.
Being born and raised in Liverpool, Mr. Hamilton had no prior knowledge on the topic of co-op until studying education. However, the more he learned about co-op, the more he connected with it.
As Mr. Hamilton stated, “School isn't for everyone, so changing the environment from school to workplace can bring out the best in a person.”

With the strong desire to help students succeed, Mr. Hamilton is always pushing students to the best of their abilities, as he knows “Real world experience can sometimes be more valuable than theory.”
Evidently, Mr. Hamilton is always putting in his all to help students achieve their goals. That being said, there is no doubt that his hard work pays off.
“It is most rewarding watching kids change from student to a functioning member of society with a big smile on their face,” he said about his work.
Having Mr. Hamilton as the face of Blakelock’s co-op department is more than a delight. So with that, in Mr. Hamilton’s words, “Come join the party.”
