On Friday May 30th, T.A. Blakelock held Its annual Spring Bash on the track. This year the event was hosted by Student Council and it was an undeniable success.
To allow all students to attend the event, Friday’s schedule was shortened. All four periods took place before 12:00 pm and students were free to attend Spring Bash during their extended lunch from 12:00-2:40 pm.
Inflatables on the field.
This year, the Spring Bash featured club booths, food, and fun activities. Club representatives set up tables with posters, prizes and games along the perimeter of the track. This allowed students to check out new clubs to join for next year. Some clubs in attendance include the South Asian Student Association (SASA), Book Club, DECA, and Art Club, which provided the opportunity for face painting!
In the centre of the field, activities were displayed. There was a cakewalk with cakes baked and donated by members of Student Council; a volleyball net, a spike ball net, and inflatables. Both inflatables were a hit, with one featuring an obstacle course, and the other a bouncy boxing ring.
Volunteers and teachers barbecuing.
In terms of food, students had the opportunity to pre-order a burger barbecued by our very own TAB students and teachers. However, if students did not pre-purchase food items, other food possibilities included ice cream and Beavertail trucks.
Overall, the event was a hit. The weather was warm and sunny, the food was delicious, and there were plenty of fun activities. Students had a blast!
