The Blakelock Football Team crushed their game against Burlington Central in a 19-4 win on Friday, September 20. After a challenging last season, the Tigers started off strong by bringing their A game for their season opener. This promising game left fans excited and eager to see what this season will bring.

The game started strong with Blakelock leading 7-0, after a hard earned touchdown from Matthew Woodcock.
After the first half, the Tigers were winning 7-2 and had fans anxious to see the final result. The defense line stayed strong and held onto their lead. Two touchdowns were then scored by Tariq Csepreghi, extending their lead to 19-4.

The back line remained strong, preventing the opposition from scoring, giving the Tigers control of the game. Blakelock stayed consistent and was determined to keep the lead.
The game had a surprisingly large turnout and multiple students showed their spirit by making signs, wearing green and giving their support until the very end.

Coach Stainton, who is leading the team this year shared his thoughts on the win, “For the first game of the season, the players exuded both toughness and a true dedication to win with a full team effort. Looking forward to upcoming games, our goal is to improve every week and make TAB proud. Go Tigers!”
