This fall season at T.A. Blakelock, the senior girls' basketball team showed incredible teamwork and determination, taking the season by storm.
To start off, the basketball team accomplished an impressive 44 -13 point victory against Oakville Trafalgar High School. From there, the season only improved, with wins against the Gaetan Gervais High School, Milton District High School, and White Oaks High School.
The Girls basketball team in a huddle.
Grade 11 player Emma Kellerman stated, “We improved a lot as a team from the beginning of the season. Previously, none of the girls had played together. It was a very new team but we worked together to make it a great season.”
A huge part of the team's achievements came from the constant support of their two coaches, Mr Tam and Mr Winters. Mr Tam was a new addition to the coaching staff, and brought energy and new ideas to the team. Together, he and Mr. Winters created new plays that suited the girl’s playing style.
The team demonstrated perseverance all throughout the season; this hard work paid off as they made it to the playoffs against Craig Kielburger Secondary School. Overall a successful season for TAB’s senior girls basketball team!
