Mr. Borg is a well-known grade 9 I-STEM teacher. He started out his career as a freelance landscaper where he worked for himself, as well as other landscaping companies. When he eventually realized he needed a new challenge, he decided teaching was for him while still using his previous knowledge on technological design. He then went on to the Ontario Institute for Studies and Education (OISE).
T.A Blakelock is the very first school where Mr. Borg has been involved with a program like I-STEM. This February will be his 12th year teaching, and his 8th year since he switched from the TDSB to HDSB. If you know Mr. Borg, you know he has a very strong sense of humour that is often present in the way he teaches.

Mr. Borg’s hobbies are all very creative, just like him. He enjoys playing percussion which he’s been doing for over 30 years, as well as playing the French horn which he taught himself to play during the COVID-19 pandemic.
When it comes to movies and shows, Mr. Borg likes to watch science fiction with complicated storylines that show complexity, creativity, and uniqueness. He also loves music and going to concerts. He’s seen Queen, Neil Diamond, Maroon 5, Elton John, and so many more.
Mr. Borg was born in Malta and is fluent in Maltese. When he was younger, he grew up with several pets, including boxers and canaries.
If you see him in the hallway, give him a shout (and he’ll shout back)!
