On September 26, Blakelock's very own Varsity Boys Football team faced off against Aldershot High School in a buyout game. The game took place at Nelson High School's field, and despite a rough start in an earlier game against Frank Hayden, the Tigers’ second game of the season could not have gone better.
Tickets were $12 each on School Cash Online, and many TAB students came out to support their team. Snacks and pizza were sold by members of TAB’s Athletic Council, who worked incredibly hard to organize the event. The Blakelock student section was packed with fans dressed in black and green, wearing face paint, waving signs and clappers, and cheering loudly - spreading Tiger spirit and showing their support throughout the game.
This incredible support fueled our football team's energy, allowing them to gain an early and intense lead with a touchdown by Adam Hallman in the first part of the first half. Throughout the game, the Tigers maintained their momentum, giving their all through teamwork, perseverance, and skill as they scored two more touchdowns, one by Tariq Csepreghi, and another by Adam Hallman. Their effort paid off, with an 18-13 victory, leaving Aldershot in the dust.
This game has set the tone for the rest of the football season, leaving Blakelock in full support and awe of their seemingly unstoppable football team. With such a strong win and unmatched school spirit, the Tigers have proven themselves. The Blacklock community can't wait to see what they'll accomplish next. Go Tigers!
