5, 6, 7, 8… Blakelock’s Dance Team Takes the Stage!

Since starting in October, the Blakelock dance team has been working hard preparing and choreographing their competition dances for the spring season. 

This year the team went to two competitions. The first one was on March 4th at Glendale High School, and the second one was on April 16th in Milton. 

While at Glendale, the team's contemporary dance, choreographed by Sierra Park and Gabby Fung, titled "Hope", received a choreography award and obtained a score of 96+, which falls under the Platinum WOW category. Sierra Park displayed an amazing performance and placed 2nd overall with her self-choreographed varsity solo titled “Unravelling.”

While at Strive, “Hope” received 3rd overall among all groups. The team’s jazz dance “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You,” choreographed by Vanessa Vamvakaris and Ava Puhlmann, received a score of 96+ (the highest achievable rank of diamond).
