Our words matter. The language we use matters. Think about the ceilings you are setting and the ladders you are building! 🪜
I hope you all had a great President's Day and that you are ready to finish out the month of February strong!
The allotment meeting went well, but we did lose some positions. We will only have 4 third-grade teachers next year, and we will not have the 1/2 time Title I position, nor will we have the 1/2 time ESOL position. We did, however, gain a 1/2 time SEARCH position. While I don't know how everything will shake out, Beth and I are confident that all of you will land in the right spot. If you have any questions about next year, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Formatives have begun, and I have really enjoyed being in your classrooms. Please don't forget to schedule a time to meet with us within 5 days of your observation. This is when we will discuss what was happening and score your TKES rubric together.
Have a great week! ☀️
Hey team! I hope you are all rested and ready for the short week ahead. This year feels like it is moving at warp speed, and that means the items on our to-do lists will be added steadily until the end of the year. EOY MAP Testing is right around the corner, and every instructional minute counts.
ALL Employees - Vote for March TOTM & SMOM here by Wednesday, February 25th
K-3rd Teachers - Send home AMIRA Parent Reports (you print in color) and Fluency Letters on Wednesday, February 25th (Beth will print and give to you)
Benchmark grading with a curve for the 2nd semester
0-50 score 60 (gaps)
51-64 score 70 (approaching)
65-79 score 80 (proficient)
81-100 (mastery, give that grade!)
We LOVE PAWSITIVE Office Referrals - Please take a moment to celebrate a student who has shown positive behavior 😃

How are you BUILDING fluency in mathematics?
While not the most exciting, the following videos are HELPFUL
Consider the quote below and reflect...
As many schools move towards ubiquitous access to technology, there is sometimes an assumption that students’ minds can stay focused on their learning task with technology for long periods of time. Yet students of all ages need brain breaks from learning activities, so they can take time to recharge and reflect. Elementary students’ on-task behavior in an activity begins to decline after 10 minutes (Godwin et al., 2016).
