Thank you for your intentionality to planning lessons that are meeting the needs of students. Please let us know how we can support you. I also encourage you to support each other AND each other's success! If something is working for you and your students, SHARE it with your team. Together we are better!
We are working on staffing for next school year and will communicate progress as we go along. Stay tuned! 🙂
I appreciate all that you do and I hope that you have a great break February 14-18!

In addition to the dress-up days on the left we will have a Book Character Parade on Friday of next week. We will follow the same procedure as last year. The parade will consist of two loops through the halls.
Parade Schedule and procedures:
1:35: Participants will gather in the gym and stand in their grade level’s designated spot. Please enter the gym from the kindergarten hall.
*We will have a short parade from the gym through the first grade hall for Mrs. Lorenz’s class as they go to buses. First grade will be their audience from 1:35-1:42.
The parade order will be 1st grade, 5th grade, 4th grade, 3rd grade, 2nd grade, Kindergarten.
*Everyone else will parade from the gym and continue on through to the first-grade hall. We parade through twice. After the second round:
First grade participants will lead the parade through the school and down their hall where they will join the spectators at the end of the 1st grade hall
The fifth grade will take over as the parade leaders and will parade through the school to their hall
When each grade gets to the hall with their grade level they will join their class in the hall and will return to their classes with their teachers.
Please let me know if you have any question. I'll send these instructions and a map out with WCAT next Monday.

With all of the technology changes we have undergone in the last few years many of the traditional ways of watching videos have become obsolete. Likewise, utilizing personal streaming services are a violation of your user agreements and could possibly result in legal consequences. As a solution Hall County has purchased District Licenses to the SWANK Streaming Service...but that doesn't mean you can show any of the movies on the platform any time you like.
The movie policy is as follows:
Teacher completes the LSi3-HCSD Movie Approval Form
There are some movies not on SWANK that we will continue to stream school-wide (i.e. many of the Christmas classics).
Administrator approves
Teacher gives approved form to Media Specialist
Media Specialist submits a request to have the movie added to the district SWANK content
Media Services Coordinator approves the request
**No request submitted by a teacher will be approved.**
Movie is added to the district licensed content
Once a movie is approved for one school, it will be available
to all Hall County teachers. Being available in SWANK does not mean it is approved for all classroom use.
We are still required to get permission for students to view PG rated videos

Thank you SO much for all of your patience and quiet walking in the halls the past few weeks as we completed the ACCESS test. We are so excited to have all of the students we currently serve in our building complete and cannot wait to see their scores when we receive them in April. Julie and I will be returning to our regular schedule segments this week and next. Please reach out if there is any way we can support you with Multilingual Learners in your classrooms!
