And just like that, we are nearing the end of MARCH! Spring is in the air and I couldn't be happier for warm weather to get here and stay! ☀️As you know, MAP is next week and I can't wait to see how your students perform. Remind them to do their best and work hard for the reward of extra recess and a popsicle!
If you haven't already, please talk with your grade level Leadership representative about Field Day (April 4th). We are switching things up just a bit and I want to make sure everyone knows what do when. We also have several staff members out that day, so we will need ALL hands on deck. Safety will be of upmost importance that day so please make sure parents that are attending check in with the front office and have a visitor sticker clearly displayed. Parents will not be permitted in the building with the exception of the restrooms at the gym/end of first grade hall or the event happening in the gym. If you have questions about this, please reach out.
Please complete the AP survey that was sent out this morning. Sign off on my door once you have completed it. Beth appreciates the feedback! The survey closes on March 31st.
I appreciate your patience as we have been working hard to interview candidates to replace all of the lovely people that are leaving us. While we are not fully staffed for the 25-26 school year, we are very close. Please see below our new hires and some moves around the building. We will continue to work to fill positions as quickly as possible and keep you updated along the way.

💡Bright Spots💡 Please don't forget to vote for the April TOTM and SMOM here by Wednesday, March 26th.
We are beginning to plan for class rosters next year and will continue to place students in classrooms with teachers who have endorsements that will best serve student needs. As a school of inquiry, we encourage all of our teachers to obtain their Gifted Endorsement so all of our students receive personalized learning that challenges them appropriately. The gifted endorsement is available at no cost for 2025-2026, beginning with Course 1 this summer. Hall County Schools will pay for the gifted endorsement through Pioneer RESA, and teachers earn a $300 stipend for the summer Course 1 completion. Upon completing the gifted endorsement in May 2026, Hall County teachers earn an additional $450 stipend. Most classes are online and asynchronous; there will be about 4 or 5 face-to-face sessions and 4 or 5 live Zoom sessions throughout the year, scheduled with several options to make it work for you. Please see the updated Gifted Endorsement Flyer for more information.
If you want to start your gifted endorsement, please see the attached flyer and complete this 2025-2026 Gifted Endorsement Survey. Please complete by March 14; Laurie Ecke and/or Michele Hood will reach out with more information later in March/April.

Wildcat Way Day
April 18: Hope
May 2: Initiative
Thank you for your help during the Author visit this month. The kids did a great job listening, following instructions, and being respectful. I was impressed with how many said thank you as they entered the Learning Commons and I handed them their paper for the drawing activity at the end of the presentation.
From Shanda: "Thank you again for such a warm welcome at Lanier Elementary today. I enjoyed every minute of my time with your students. I hope the kids enjoyed it too!"
It's Book Fair time! We are using Scholastic for our Spring Fair.
Teacher preview is Friday, March 28, after buses.
1st-5th: Please sign up for two times for your class to visit the book fair:
One 20-minute timeslot Monday or Tuesday and one 20-minute timeslot Wednesday or Thursday.
We will not be filling out wishlists, I'll send out pictures of the cases and tables so parents can see what's available. We won't be able to guarantee availability, so the kids need to have back-up choices.
Encourage students to bring money and purchase during their first visit, we can't guarantee we will be able to restock items.
Kindergarten: Please send your students in to shop in small groups with your para.
To help reduce congestion and provide a less chaotic shopping experience for everyone, please only send your students to shop during your shopping day & time.
Students can come other times during the day with a parent.
Book fair hours are 7:10am-3:00pm each day March 31, and April 1-3.
We will NOT have library visits or checkouts during Book Fair, March 31-April 3.
eWallet: Parents can set up an eWallet to send money in for their child to shop the fair. Any amount left can be used at Scholastic.com or can be used at future fairs. Teachers you can also create an eWallet, share the link and parents can add contributions to your account to help build your classroom library.
