We have made it to the final week before a MUCH DESERVED Winter break! I encourage you to keep your foot on the gas pedal and use every instructional minute this week to continue to grow and challenge your kids. As we discussed with the leadership team last week, our school-wide data is trending up, but we still have a steep mountain to climb. We owe it to our students to give them our best each and every day!Â
Faculty and Staff will return to school on Jan. 6. The agenda for that day is as follows:Â
8:00-Arrival
9:00-10:00- Active Shooter trainingÂ

10:00-11:30- Collaborative planning with teams
11:30-1:00- Lunch
1:00-4:00- Benchmark Training off campusÂ
(see Schedule in Beth's section)Â
*If you do not have Benchmark training, you will return to school. Please see the Mid-Year conference schedule as some of you may be scheduled for this day.Â

Lanier 1: Please check the desktop of your laptop and your ClearTouch and make sure you have the âLanier 1â icon. (pictured above). Double Click and make sure it either shows the broadcast rainbow or the opening screen to Ice Age. This is where you will go to view our Closed Circuit Broadcasts. I will send out a schedule of movies for the last week before the break (if you have a request now is the time to tell me!) We will also broadcast the Spelling Bee on December 18. If you do not have this on your desktop or yours doesnât work, please let me know.
YouTube Ads: Iâm sure you have noticed more YouTube ads popping since the ClearTouch rollout. You have to reenable the uBlock Origin extension to block these. To do so look to the right of the URL & Click The uBlock Origin Extension (see above- itâs grey when off and red when enabled) & Turn on. You may have to click the puzzle piece to open âManage Extensionsâ then find uBlock Origin from the list. Unfortunately, this will be a temporary fix because Google is phasing out the uBlock Origin Extension since it doesnât meet their best practice for Google Chrome Extensions. Hopefully the county will find a suitable replacement soon and you wonât have to think about it again.
ClassWize: For the last six weeks or so your entire roster of kids may not have been showing up in your ClassWize monitoring although they were clearly on their devices and you had started your class properly.
To fix this issue:
1) Remove all profiles from the ChromebooksÂ
2) Power off the Chromebook completelyÂ
3) Have students sign in again. Â
This should rebuild the student's profile and pull the latest version of all extensions including Classwize. Please let me know if this doesnât fix the problem. There is another more tedious fix we can try, but hopefully this will catch most of them.
Pictures: Please add pictures you take throughout the year in the *Pictures_2024-25 Shared Google Drive. We use these pictures for the website, yearbook and Facebook Posts. It helps if you create a grade level folder and then subfolders labeled with the events' names. Sometimes it's hard to determine exactly what's happening in pictures without a little hint!Â
