Happy November! While I can't believe we are already here, we are, and I am choosing to embrace it. 🍂 I am truly thankful for this season with each of you!
I want to say thank you for being prepared for data chats last week and for working so hard to help your students grow. It is evident that we have a lot of needs across the building but you all are doing a really nice job of addressing them. I encourage you to stick with it. Trust the process and know that anything that's really worth it is hard work and takes time. Work together, collaborate around your data, ask for help when you get stuck, and above all else continue to do what you know is right for kids! This work is hard and the burden is heavy...we need each other and I am thankful for each of you!
Thank you to all who attended and participated in the i3 Showcase last night. It was a huge success. Special shout out to Kate and the Inquiry Committee for planning and organizing it! 👏Events like this are reminders of why we do what we do. Offering the space for families to be engaged with one another and learning together is truly what school's all about.
I am excited about forecast plannings that are coming up in the next couple weeks. I hope that time will be productive and allow your teams the opportunity to collaborate together and make data driven decisions. Be on the lookout for more info to come from Kate.
As always, thank you for what you do and how you do it. Your hard work does NOT go unnoticed.
This school year is flying by and our students are thriving because of you! Thank you all for the time and energy you put into each day and each student. Please remember the importance of each of the components of your day-to-day schedules. We all know schedules alter some but fidelity and consistency are key to growth.
A big shout out to the team of teachers and students who made our first PBIS Pep Rally a success! The students had so much fun participating and I had a blast celebrating student success. Thank you all for being a bright spot in each of your students' lives each day. Each day our interactions impact the lives of others and how we respond can leave others feeling empowered or drained. The job is not easy but what we do matters and I am grateful I get to do it with each of you.
We have Tier 2 and Tier 3 Conferences coming up in the month of November. The Tier 3 Schedule for November 11 and 13 can be found here, be sure to notice dates at the top of each page. Please take a few minutes and read over the information needed on the forms and complete them for each of your students.
Please remember all new K-3rd students must complete the MAP Reading Fluency Assessment and have a letter notifying the parent of the results. The directions to complete the assessment and generate a letter can be to the left MAP Growth and MAP Fluency Guidelines. You can also reach out and I am happy to help.
Bright Spots: We love reading and sharing the comments about how employees are "Rocking their Role" through the TOTM and SMOM surveys! Positive affirmations bring each of us joy. You are all doing such amazing things for your students and each other. Please vote for the December TOTM and SMOM here by Friday, November 22.
Please send up those PAWS'itive Office Referrals! Seeing the bright spots in our students helps make a positive impact on student behaviors and truly brightens their day and ours!
I am thankful to work alongside every one of you. My hope is the new season brings you peace and a sense of joy as we move through the school year.

Christmas Giving:
If you or your family are interested in sponsoring a family for Christmas, please reach out to Taylor Kizziah at taylorkizziah@gmail.com. You can pick which kids you donate to, however she does ask that siblings are grouped together to ensure everyone in the house has a gift.
If you have any families that are requesting assistance for Christmas, please direct them towards me! They say they will match families with donors up until Christmas Eve so it is not too late.
SEL Brochures:
Outside my office, there is now a brochure holder. I have printed off Social-Emotional brochures for kids to be able to come and get as needed. In case I am out of the building or in the middle of something, a student can come and pick a brochure that fits the problem they are having. The topics I have are: out of control emotions, negative thoughts, anger, deep breathing, friendship skills, confidence boost, and coping skills.
