You've got this! We are in the final days with students and I know that we are all filled with a variety of emotions. For some of us we can't wait for it to end, others may be dreading that final wave, and some fall somewhere in between. Regardless of your feeling(s), I encourage you to finish strong and keep pushing!
We are ALMOST fully staffed! YAY! We would like to welcome Ms. Rachel Moss to our new AU classroom. We would also like to welcome Mrs. Callie Wiley to the media center. She will be replacing Mrs. Bowker as media clerk. However, we aren't saying goodbye to Mrs. Bowker! She's transitioning to LTS for Mrs. Kindberg while she in on maternity leave, and will then transition to a priority sub. We are still in search of an AU para. Thank you all for being patient as we finalize teams and for welcoming all of our new people as they have joined us. If you have any questions regarding any of our new friends, please let us know.
Thank you, again, for all your hard work! We appreciate you. 👏
Wow! We are down to just a few weeks left to go, but so much to get finished. Thank you all for your dedication to our Wildcats and for your hard work. Please reach out anytime if you have any questions or concerns. We are here to help!

Milestones Affirmation Cards
Please remember to sign up for a 3rd-5th student to write a card for to open on the Monday of Milestones. Each child deserves to know an adult in the building is rooting for them and believes in them outside of their incredible homeroom teachers.
Please turn the cards in when you finish writing them, but remember the due date for this is May 2! You can sign up here!
End of Year Wrap-Ups:
Self-Harm/Abuse Protocol:
Once you believe a student is a threat to themselves/others OR is being abused, please halt all questions and notify me (this is to limit the amount of times they will be questioned).
If I am out of the building, please get admin. If I am in the middle of something, text me that it is an emergency because they do not need to go home before I can speak to them.
Better to be safe than sorry!

We have received all of our ESOL students' recent ACCESS test scores this month!
A few things to know about the ACCESS Scores:
Proficiency Levels (PL) consists of a score for each of the 4 domains: Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing.
Students can score up to 6.0 points in each language domain.
Students also receive a Composite Proficiency Level (CPL) score which is based on their language domain scores.
Students who score a 5.0 overall Composite Proficiency Level (CPL) or above are clear exits. Meaning they will no longer receive ESOL services.
However, students who score 4.3-4.9 may ALSO exit if they also scored a Literacy Proficiency Level score of 4.0 or higher.
Julie and I will continue to use the homeroom Proficiency Level Documents to help track specific language domains our students need more help and focus on as well as the language domain strengths our students have!
If you have any questions at all about your ESOL students or their ACCESS scores, please reach out and let us know!
