WELCOME BACK! New year, new you! I am so excited to begin 2026 with each of you. I hope you have had time to reflect on the first half of the school year and that you are ready to buckle down and make the last half AMAZING! We have already come so far this year, and I know that this second semester, we are going to continue to work hard to meet and exceed our goals!
We will be having mid-year conferences this month, and begin scheduling formative observations for everyone. The schedule for the mid-year conferences is linked HERE. Please reach out if you have a conflict, and we will make appropriate changes.
Beth and I will go to our allotment meeting at Central Office on January 26th. This is when they will talk with us about how many positions we will have and if anything will be changing for the 26-27 school year. It is very important that we know your intentions in order to help us make decisions about next year's placements. If you haven't completed the Employee Intent Form, please do so ASAP. If you have any questions or would like to talk about next year's plans, we can do so at your mid-year conference.
January's a hopping month, so please be sure to write down all of the important dates mentioned on the left and let us know if you have any questions about them. ☃️
✨Welcome back, everyone! I pray that each of you had a restful break with your family and loved ones and are ready to hit the ground running. As Alli stated above, many activities are coming up, so be sure to mark your calendars. If there is any way we can support you, please let us know. We are happy to help in any way we can. I appreciate your dedication to our Wildcats and your professionalism towards one another. ✨

ACCESS Testing is already here—can you believe it? We are so excited for our amazing students to show all they have learned in English!
This week, we will follow our regular schedules while focusing on practice within the testing platform and reviewing domain-specific content. Next week, we will transition into the official testing schedule. During this time, we will not be pulling students out of class or pushing into classrooms for support until all students in the building have completed the ACCESS Test.
As a friendly reminder, the ACCESS Test includes four separate assessments, one for each language domain, administered in the following order: Listening - Reading - Writing - Speaking
Because each domain is tested individually, the full assessment window takes several weeks to complete. The Speaking Test is administered in very small groups to ensure students can perform their best in a comfortable setting.
This week is a wonderful opportunity to revisit the language domain goals students set earlier this year. Please encourage students to think about their progress and to do their best to grow in their target domain!
If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are incredibly grateful for your support and for everything you do to champion our ESOL students. Thank you for your dedication to our amazing learners!
