Gratitude..."choosing to appreciate the people and things in our lives". As we enter the Thanksgiving season, I can't help but think about the gratitude I have for each of you, our students, our families, and this community. I encourage you to think about who and what you are thankful for this season, and tell them! 🫂
I am excited about our first i3 Showcase of the year (Nov. 17th) and I can't wait for our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade families to come and see the hard work that our students have completed this first semester. The goal of this night is to involve our families in the excitement of how we infuse inquiry into all areas of their child's day! All certified staff are expected to attend at least one of the i3 Showcase nights (Feb. 23rd, K-2). Please reach out to Kate, Beth, or myself if you have any questions about the night and your role. There will be a teacher sign-in sheet in the lunchroom on the night of the event.
Please make sure that you are completing your lunch count FIRST THING in the morning. Lisa and her staff are trying desperately to plan for ALL grade levels and it makes it very difficult if they don't have your numbers in a timely manner. Also, PLEASE make sure you are getting to the lunchroom on time and picking your class up on time. I know that things happen, but it is really important for you to make every effort possible to be ON TIME.
I appreciate what you do each and every day and I am thankful to be on this journey with you. Reach out if you need me! 🍂
Thankful for each one of you! The days are long, but the years are short, and what you do each day matters. Please see the information below and mark your calendars!
November Wildcat Hub - Please share with your families
Remember to turn off your lamps and light strips around your boards and room EVERY day - This is extremely important
i-Ready two times a week for 25 minutes each session for each subject area
Mrs. Pearson will be providing teachers with Tier 2 students, activities from i-Ready that will address students' biggest deficits. Students are unable to successfully complete the learning path without exposure to these lessons/activities. She does not work with Tier 2 students, so these can be implemented in small group time or morning work time
Amira - 15 minutes 2 times each week
Amira provides diagnostic data and interventions, and activities for each area of need for students
Amira is currently not rostering new students into the platform correctly and students are receiving error codes. This is county wide. Once it is fixed, I will notify teachers.
Please remember to use the links to the left - Especially the PAWSITIVE Office Referrals
All new K-3rd-grade students must be assessed on the Amira Platform within 10 days of enrolling in school. Once you assess the student, send Beth an email that the assessment is complete.

Getting Ready for the January ACCESS for ELLs Test Window
As we get closer to January, Julie and I are kicking off a weekly focused session with our multilingual learners—working through the four domains (Listening, Reading, Speaking, Writing) of the ACCESS test so our students feel confident in both the content and the testing platform.
The ACCESS assessment is a standards-based English-language-proficiency test that measures students’ academic and social English skills across those four domains.
Here’s what we’re doing together:
Listening & Reading: Familiarizing students with what the items look like, and strengthening comprehension of both spoken and written English.
Speaking & Writing: Giving them structured time to practice expressing ideas clearly—paired with feedback.
Platform awareness: Helping students become comfortable with how the test will be delivered (online/paper) so that the environment feels familiar and supportive.
Goal discussion: Engaging students in talking about their language growth and how they can show what they know, rather than focusing only on a “test score.”
