I hope everyone had an amazing Spring Break and that you are ready to finish these last few weeks strong! This year may have felt like a HUGE mountain, but take heart! We are almost down the other side and will be looking back at it soon! I encourage you to enjoy these last few weeks, and continue to focus on growing your kiddos. They deserve it!
We are still trying to fill holes for next year. We are in the process of interviewing for an AU teacher (Mrs. Lorenz will be missed!), an AU para, and media clerk (Mrs. Bowker will be missed!). We will let you know once these positions have been filled. We are excited to announce that Mrs. Pearson will be moving in to the EIP position for next year. We had some amazing candidates interview for the position and it makes me very happy to know that they are all in our building and working with kids! We are excited to welcome a former intern, Ms. Hannah Cantrell to the 4th grade team. We are also sad to say goodbye to Nurse Jennifer Jones for next year, however, we are welcoming Nurse Deborah Jones from McEver Elementary.
Please pay close attention to the sections below. There is A LOT of info and it is all very important. I would hate for you to miss something!
Thank you all for what you do each and every day for our students! it does not go unnoticed and I appreciate you! Please let us know how we can support you!

Milestones Affirmation Cards
Please remember to sign up for a 3rd-5th student to write a card for to open on the Monday of Milestones. Each child deserves to know an adult in the building is rooting for them and believes in them outside of their incredible homeroom teachers.
Please turn the cards in when you finish writing them, but remember the due date for this is May 2nd! You can sign up here!
End of Year Wrap-Ups:
I cannot believe our year is almost UP! We have less than 30 days now left with our kids before they move on to the next grade.
As we are finishing the year, please let me know if there is anything that they or you need. This could look like a specific lesson, a conversation, a parent meeting, anything to help finish the year strong and set them up for success next year.
Kate and I are beginning Milestone Prep Lessons for all 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classes. I am also beginning a unit of lessons for 5th grade focusing on Executive Function to help prepare them for middle school and will focus on Organization Skills, Time Management, Setting Goals, and Mindful Listening. In addition, I am wrapping up my last unit of lessons for all K-5 on Relationship Skills before starting our last unit of School Skills for all homerooms.
SO, my schedule for the next few weeks is a little packed but please let me know what you need so we can finish strong :)
Self-Harm/Abuse Protocol:
Once you believe a student is a threat to themselves/others OR is being abused, please halt all questions and notify me (this is to limit the amount of times they will be questioned).
If I am out of the building, please get admin. If I am in the middle of something, text me that it is an emergency because they do not need to go home before I can speak to them.
Better to be safe than sorry!
