Fall break is ALMOST here! Thank you for working so hard up to this point! This first 9 weeks has been nothing short of amazingly fast, furious, and fun! I encourage you to take next Monday and Tuesday to recharge and be ready to hit the ground running for our second nine weeks!
Don't forget that everything should be off the walls by Friday, Oct. 11. Please keep the schedule that Allyson gave you close in order to know when and what is happening to you. If you have questions, please reach out to Allyson or Beth and myself.
On Oct. 16, we will have a system-wide PL day. Kate has already sent you a schedule of where your Benchmark training will take place. If you are NOT on that schedule and have not been contacted by us with another spot of where to go, that means you will be at school all day! The admin and SPED team will be at CHS for an afternoon session from the GaDOE.
Thank you again for all you do! Please keep up the hard work and reach out if you have any questions.
The first quarter of the year is wrapping up and that means report cards and celebrations! I am celebrating each of you because of all the hard work you put in each and every day! YOU make a difference each day in the lives of our little Wildcats!
Our first PBIS celebration will be this Friday, October 11, during lunch. Lisa will have paper trays and/or sack lunches ready for kiddos who need a school lunch. Grab those lunches and bring the kiddos down to the gym. Ms. Reeves and I will be in the gym eating and celebrating with those who earned the Glow Party Celebration.
We will also recognize the student in each class with the highest DOJO Points earned. Please place their name and total points earned in this document by Thursday, October 10, so we can recognize each of them.
Keep those PAWS'itive Office Referrals coming. Seeing the bright spots in our students helps make a positive impact on student behaviors and truly brightens their day!
Please double-check your schedules that are linked here and make adjustments if needed. If you make an adjustment, please let me know so that I can modify the master schedule. It is important to stay as close as possible to your posted schedule because there are specific components of Benchmark we have been asked to observe.

Universal Screener:
On October 16, during the teacher workday, you will complete the Universal Screener. This is what we did last April where we rated students based on the externalizing or internalizing behaviors they show. I will send you your class list closer to time.
*If you are new to Lanier or Hall Co, I will be emailing you to see if we could sit down and talk about the screener so I can show you exactly how to do it.
*We do have some students whose parents have opted them out. I will tell you who not to screen when the time comes. You do not have to keep up with that :)
PAWS PBIS Week
October 28-November 1 is this year's Sources of Strength Week. We have decided to claim it as PAWS Week to celebrate our new PBIS expectations (great idea from student council and Mrs. Coffman and Mrs. Miller)!
Monday: P-Positive (Dress as a positive role model)
Tuesday: A-Accountable (Dress in your favorite decade)
Wednesday: W-Willing (Dress in your favorite team jersey or t-shirt)
Thursday: S-Safe (Super hero day)
Friday: Lanier Wildcat Pride (Pep Rally at 1:35)
*In place of November Wildcat Way Day, we will celebrate with a Generosity Pep Rally. All week, we will be collecting donations for our school's Caring Closet (i.e., clothes, shoes, toiletries, canned food items). The grade level that collects the most will win a prize!

Getting ready for ClearTouches
I know you all are stressed and anxious about the ClearTouch rollout, and I know it's a lot to ask for you to deconstruct all of the work you have put into setting up your classrooms. I'm here to help. I will come and help you take down anything, scrape walls, and move furniture, just send up the smoke signals!
Everyone should have your individual schedule/timeline of when the work will be done in your classrooms and a checklist of what to expect. Please watch this video the night before your ClearTouch is installed. I will be by that morning to check your installation and give you a tutorial to get you started. If you view the video beforehand, you will have an overview of how everything is supposed to operate.
Benchmark Inquiry Research Projects
As you are planning your Benchmark Inquiry projects, please reach out and let me know what you are working on and I can help you plan and execute these. I'll be more than happy to come and help your kids research and/or create their projects. We have a wealth of resources, we just need to get together and talk through the possibilities.
Epson iProjection App
This won't affect most of you for too much longer, but with the Window 11 Update the Epson iProjection App isn't supported. To project to your Epson search Epson in the toolbar at the bottom of your desktop and select "Epson iProjection ver. 4.01" then you will be able to connect as usual.
Hovercam Problems...
With the new Windows update your Hovercam will need a little update of its own. Please use screenshot on the left to change your hovercam's resolution so it will video capture and not show still shots.
