We are already nearing the end of January and I don't know about you, but I've got my sights set on SPRING! 😜🌷
Please be sure that your teams have a plan should we get winter weather and have to do school from home. Grade leaders were made aware of this last week, but I want everyone to be ready to roll should we need it. My suggestion is to have the packets prepared and don't wait until the last minute for copies and gathering materials. At this time we are not planning to send Chromebooks. Please reach out with any questions. ❄️
Beth and I will go to our allotment conference at CO on Monday, January 26th. We should know then what we are working with for next year. If your plans have changed since you completed your intent form, PLEASE let me know ASAP. Our goal is get everyone to where they want to be while doing what is best for kids!
Thanks for all you do! Keep up the good work!

QPA/QSA data was due on January 16th.
IXL skill plans are updated with new MAP Growth data. Mrs. Tarala is using a two week reward system to get students completing skills on that plan. Students are completing the skills and checking the boxes themselves to earn prizes. I loved that kids were doing this on their own and it was so simple to manage!
Mrs. Beard, Mrs. Deering, Mrs. Edwards, Mrs. Schimek, and Mrs. Tarala all attended the optional PL on Foundations A-Z. If you missed it and want to know more let me know!
We want all students to be automatic and fluent readers. This aids in comprehension. Don't forget about repeated readings and their benefits!
Be sure you are using your ETRC pacing guides and ensuring we are on track!

Last week at my Media Specialist meeting they announced a change for the password updates for next year. Passwords have to be updated yearly. Since this policy was established in January three years ago most of us have to update our passwords after Christmas Break.
It is best to update your password at school on the network so all of your accounts get updated at the same time. If you change your password while at home then your online accounts get updated but your laptop password doesn't until you get back to school and have access to the network. To avoid this confusion the district is going to send out password update reminders after Thanksgiving. Please update your password AT SCHOOL during that three week window before we leave for Christmas Break.
We have completed the Listening and Reading portions of ACCESS testing for all students currently enrolled and present in the country!! This week, we are moving into the Writing portion, and once that is finished, we will begin Speaking!
Thank you so much for your flexibility with schedules and for helping keep the hallways quiet near our testing classrooms. We truly appreciate your support.
For the writing test, students are split into either tier A or Tier B/C tests depending how they scored on the listening and reading tests. You can find the tentative Writing schedule for this week here. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if there is a specific time you’d like us to try to work around—we will do our best to accommodate.
