What is PITCH?
Walk around your house or yard and find 3 things that make a LOW sound, and 3 things that make a HIGH sound.
How LOW or HIGH can you make your voice go? Try it! Can anyone else in your house make their voice LOWER or HIGHER than you?
Favourite Band Project (Levels 3-6)
Your task over the next 2 weeks is to create an A3 poster (that’s the size of 2 regular sheets of paper) about your favourite band or singer. You will need to do some research to find information, but also think about WHY you like this band / singer. What about their music appeals to you?
Your poster MUST include the following information:
The name of the band / singer
When the band was formed OR when the singer was born
Where are they from?
Who are the members? What instruments do they play?
What GENRE (or “style”) of music do they play?
Eg. Rock, Hip-Hop, Heavy Metal, Jazz
How many albums and singles have they released? Did any of their songs hit “Number 1” on the charts?
What do YOU like about their music? Be specific!
What is your favourite song from this band / singer?
The layout of the poster is up to you, as long as you can include all of the above information. This week you need to have drawn up a draft of your poster, and next week you will work on the final product.
Here is an example of a draft poster. Aim to have this done by THIS week.
And here is my finished draft. This is what you need to have completed by NEXT week.
