Dear GWSPS students
We hope you are all well and have had an enjoyable break from school, some of you enjoying an extended break! Unfortunately, we have to enter into a second phase of Remote Learning. But, just as you did an incredible job the first time round, I have no doubt you will do an equally incredible job this time round. You can be assured that we will all continue to be here supporting you in your learning and your wellbeing.
Your teachers have again spent many hours and days working on creating an engaging and fun Home Learning page for you to use while you are away from school, and it is very easy to use. We have provided your parents with further suggestions for how to create the best learning environment in your home. Please take the time to look at these suggestions and go through it with your parents so that everyone can understand how to make the best possible use of the GWSPS Home Learning site. Many of you have brothers and sisters who need access to devices or computers at home and some of you may only have one device between all of you. That’s ok! Learning in every home will look different depending on your circumstances. Whilst it would be ideal for everyone to plan their learning from home between 9am and 3:30pm, this isn’t always possible. You can complete your learning tasks any time throughout the week, and not all tasks require completion online. Many of your tasks will need to be completed in your books.
Remember, we are here for you to help and support you. Your teachers are available during school hours to answer your questions and to help you with your learning. Levels 3 to 6 children can contact their teachers through Google Classroom, and/or their email address, which has been provided to your parents. Foundation to Level 2 students will need to contact their teachers by having your parents email them.
Your teachers will be updating the Home Learning site every week, with new tasks for each subject area.
Finally, we do not know how long this Home Learning period will last this time, but however long it takes, it is important to approach your learning at home as you would at school. This means continuing to display the behaviours and values we share and expect, through our RESPECT motto. It is equally important to continue to do the things you would normally do at home when you are not at school, whether that is playing games, reading, watching TV, listening to music, etc. Remember to look after your family, loved ones and yourselves. This situation will pass, and we will all be better and stronger for having endured these enormous adjustments in our lives.
Stay strong and take care. We will see you all very soon!

Dear GWSPS students
We hope you are all well and have had an enjoyable break from school, even if it meant you had to spend most of your holiday time at home. This is a very different time for all of us, your parents, your families and your teachers. But one thing is certain, we are all here to support you in your learning and your wellbeing.
