Find a soft surface and some pillows for extra safety to practise the following rolls.
Watch the videos below and attempt some pencil, egg and forward rolls (refer to last week's videos).

To warm up I would like you to complete 5 forward rolls using a safe technique. You can check back to the week 1 video's if you need help reminding how to do this.
This week we are going to practise some backwards rolls.
Watch the video below to learn how to do this. Build your confidence up using pillows for safety and then try without pillows once you are confident.

Gymnastics
Warm your body up with some arm and leg stretches of your choice. This week we are going to learn how to do a cartwheel.
Watch the video below and then attempt to do some cartwheels yourself.
Remember to use a soft surface and some pillows to start with until you are more confident.
SKILL
Rebound catching
Throw and catch a large ball such as a basketball or soccer ball against a wall to start with.
Catch using both hands. Take a step back every time you catch 3 in a row.
Now use a tennis ball, catching the rebound with two hands. Move back 1 step when you catch 3 in a row.
Challenge - Can you catch with one hand only?
SKILL
Rebound catching - Throw and catch a tennis ball against a wall by catching the rebound. Take 1 step back every time you catch 3 in a row.
Now use one hand and alternate catching with your left and right hands. Can you catch 20 in a row?
Challenge - See if you can throw a tennis ball in the air, sit down and stand back up fully before it hits the ground.
SKILL
Rebound catching - Throw a tennis ball against the wall and catch the rebound using one hand. Alternate which hand you are catching with, can you catch 30 in a row?
Throw your tennis ball in the air, do a full 360 degree spin and catch the ball before it hits the ground.
Now see if you can throw a tennis ball in the air, sit down and stand back up fully before it hits the ground.
Challenge - If you have a sibling or someone at home that has time to practise with you, have a go at some of the challenging catching drills in this video.
