Character Motivation - Part 2 (Levels 3-6)

Have another read through of this script we were introduced to last week. Which character do you identify with more, red or blue?

Choose either character and read through each of their lines (out loud) as if you are frustrated. How does your voice change to show that you are frustrated as you say those words?

Read the lines out loud again, but this time read them as if you are cute and smiley.

Even though the words are exactly the same, you can change the entire meaning of the scene with the way you say the words.

Make a list of how many different ways you could say these lines. (Try and come up with at least ten) and then read the script with all of these different intentions. See how this changes the meaning of the scene. If you have someone at home who can read the other character, great! If not, take it in turns reading blue and red yourself. Keep your list for next week!
