INSTRUCTIONAL GOALS

The primary function of a school program is the instruction of students. All staff activities and efforts shall be directed toward providing a high quality and effective instructional program that is relevant, research-based, and balanced.

Daily instruction is designed to do the following:

  1. Challenge all students to reach high standards

  2. Assist students in becoming responsible problem solvers and critical thinkers

  3. Allow all students to access a comprehensive curriculum

  4. Assess student progress to plan learning goals and evaluate performance

  5. Promote lifelong learning and the achievement of personal excellence

Instructional goals will be set by the district’s School Committee and administration as part of the strategic plan.

School Improvement Plans and classroom instructional plans will drive instructional goals on a daily basis.

The effectiveness of the instructional goals will be measured by student performance data, observations by the administration, and reflections by educators.
