Practicing Contextualization
To practice contextualization (a critical skill for LEQs and DBQs) the juniors created Nerdflix slides for major Period 3 events in APUSH. The assignment had them write short, clear summaries that tied each event to what else was happening in the colonies at the time. By the end, each student had a full set of slides that worked as a quick, easy way to review the major themes of the period!

Revolutionary War Playlist
To wrap up their unit on the American Revolution, the juniors had a blast while building playlists that represented six important events during that time period. Students picked songs, highlighted the lyrics that fit, and found images that matched the themes in both the music and the history. It ended up being a fun way to review the era while thinking about how modern music can reflect historical moments!
