Spring Constant Lab

Recording data in their lab notebooks, CHARGE juniors conducted a lab with the objective of determining the spring constant of a spring using two different methods.
First, they wrote out the procedure of the lab for both methods: vertically hanging a mass and horizontally pulling a string.
Next, they collected data for each of the 10 total trials, recording the mass, displacement, and applied/gravity force.
Finally, they plotted all the data points on a scatterplot and ran linear regressions to find the line of best fit. The magnitude of the slope found was the spring constant!
