Signal and Seating

Seat the student near where you usually stand when you are delivering the lesson. You will be more able to anticipate when they are going to call out an answer and signal to them quietly to raise their hand. Have an organised signal that the student(s) understands. This could be pointing to a visual on the wall while continuing to teach, or a physical prompt of holding up your hand.
