Quiz
Please complete this quiz. There are 6 questions.
Can you think of any other emergency services?
How to make an emergency call
If you have time later on, you could practice doing this with a partner. Take it in turns to be the caller and the call handler.
Members of the emergency services rescue people who are in trouble or in danger. They do this even though sometimes they put themselves in danger helping others.
The name Jesus means 'Saviour' or 'the one who rescues'. Jesus rescues people, not from the sea or the mountains but from the dangers of wrong and evil.
Think about...
Think about times when you might have been helped or rescued by someone else. You may not have needed the rescue services but you needed help from other people.
Prayer
Dear God,
Thank you for all those who risk their lives to rescue those in danger. Thank you Jesus who rescues people from wrong.
Amen.

Thursday 24th June
Good morning, Cathedral School. I know that you all love being at school. But before we think about that, what about singing this song.
Love
Love is something if you give it away,
Give it away, give it away.
Love is something if you give it away,
You end up having more.
It's just like a magic penny,
Hold it tight and you won't have any.
Lend it, spend it, and you'll have so many
They'll roll all over the floor.
For love is something if you give it away,
Give it away, give it away.
Love is something if you give it away,
You end up having more.
I wonder what you love about coming to school?
Is it doing maths?
Is it doing reading?
Is it doing writing?
Maybe it’s nothing like that. So
Is it your teacher?
Is it your friends?
Is it playtime?
Or
Is it just everything?
Love
We use the word love a great deal. The people who wrote the gospels had a number of different words that they could use for the one word that we have – love. They had a word that described what it was like to love another person, to love a friend, to love something. My favourite word they used is the Greek word – caritas. From it we get our word ‘charity’. It’s the kind of love we see in Jesus, the love we give away, that ends up growing and growing, until we are all caught up in love. See how much love you can give away in school today – and see what a difference it can make – just like the love of Jesus for you.,
Prayer
Jesus, you show us how to love.
May I so love those around me
that the world is full of love.
Amen
