Clifton Prep Hosts Successful Independent Schools Cricket Festival - 15-18 February

Over the weekend, Clifton Prep had the honour of hosting the Independent Schools Cricket Festival, welcoming ten esteemed schools to our grounds. The participating schools included Beaulieu, Cowan House, Pietermaritzburg Academy, Pridwin, Waterkloof House Prep, St Charles, St John's (Harare), Whitestone (Bulawayo), and Woodridge.

Despite the unpredictable weather typical of the Midlands, with misty mornings and the threat of showers, the festival proceeded with vigour and enthusiasm. Not even a drop of rain dampened the spirits of the players, coaches, and supporters.

The festival showcased exceptional cricketing talent from all participating schools. Each match was a testament to the dedication, skill, and sportsmanship of our young cricketers. From thrilling run chases to nail-biting finishes, every game was filled with excitement and intensity.

Beyond the cricketing action, the festival served as a platform for forging new friendships and strengthening existing bonds. The camaraderie displayed both on and off the field was truly heartwarming. It was inspiring to witness players from diverse backgrounds and schools coming together in the spirit of sportsmanship and fair play.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the teams who graced our grounds with their presence and showcased outstanding cricket throughout the festival. Your participation not only contributed to the success of the event but also enriched the overall experience for everyone involved.

As hosts, we are immensely proud of the vibrant atmosphere and competitive spirit that permeated the festival. It was a testament to the values of teamwork, perseverance, and respect that we hold dear at Clifton Prep.

In closing, we would like to express our appreciation to the coaches, umpires, volunteers, and supporters who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the smooth running of the event. Your dedication and commitment are deeply valued and greatly appreciated.

The Independent Schools Cricket Festival was more than a showcase of talent; it was a celebration of the enduring spirit of cricket and the bonds of friendship that unite us all.
