Chess

The Clifton Chess players have engaged in regular Tuesday and Thursday practices during the term. The competitiveness amongst the Senior Primary players is contagious and defence strategies are at the forefront of each game. Miss Morghan Flanegan has joined our Chess coaches and she plays a dedicated , "hard to beat" game. Mr Nick Ross often entertains us with his sense of humour and remains mostly undefeated thus far. Themba Moyo was appointed as Chess captain and he has served us well and with diligence.

The occassional use of the chess.com app on iPads has allowed our champs to learn new techniques, enhancing their overall skills and strategies.

Clifton hosted Laddsworth in February and our players showcased both their skills and sportsmanship.

Junior Primary boys and girls were afforded the opportunity to attend chess lessons on Friday afternoons. Within a diverse range of skills, the more experienced players helped in coaching the beginner players who were brave enough to learn the noble game of chess. We commended all these little people for their dedication and perseverence.

They will be Clifton's future Chess Champions.
