Good Morning,

I am pleased to report that the positivity rate for COVID testing in CFBISD has dropped to .07% this week from >50% three weeks ago.

In addition, DCHHS has announced a decrease to level yellow and the CDC has rated our area a level green. This means that while we

are still required to maintain a 5 day isolation period for lab confirmed positive COVID cases, we may treat other illness per our usual

school exclusion policy. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Happy Friday!

Sandra Lieck, Director of Health Services

From Mrs. Payne

Teachers,

Here are small ways to stay positive!! Some are ones we’ve seen before, but there are a couple new ones I love. I am always encouraging and reminding our students to say nice things to themselves first thing in the morning looking in the bathroom mirror. YOU need to do the same~! Your mood affects your day. Stay mentally healthy.

From Ms. Cadena

Dear CE Family,

I am reaching out to let you know that I am leaving my position as CIS at Carrollton Elementary next Friday. I am pursuing my MPA at the University of North Texas. It was a privilege and honor to work with you all.

Thank you for the support, guidance, and encouragement you have provided me. Although I’m looking forward to my next adventure, I will miss all of the wonderful colleagues and friends here at CE. One of the highlights of my career here was collaborating and building the relationships with you to help students have the best year possible and support them in becoming the best version of themselves.

I wish you and our students all the best and I look forward to staying in touch with you. This is not a goodbye, it’s more of a see you later.

Thanks again for everything!

Best Regards,

Katherine Cadena

WIN Time

WIN TIME CALENDAR FOR 22-23

Planning Week:

Planning week will be the week of the 19th - 22nd

If we are not able to get subs, we will be creative and use all the staff we can to help cover classes.

Safety and Security

Please read – you are responsible for this information.

TEA is doing random audits on outside doors. Please read the following to see how the audits will be conducted.

-A TEA representative will come to campus and check all outside doors. You might not know who they are because then will not be wearing a uniform. They will see if they can open each door. All outside doors should be locked and not propped open without someone always at the door.

-If the representative gets into the school, they will stand inside the school and time how long it takes for a school employee to question them.

-The representative then will go to the front office and ask to speak to administration.

-An administrator will then walk the representative around the campus to check the interior doors.

-If we have areas that are not sufficient for the representative, it will be reported to TEA, the superintendent, to the board, and then it needs to be released to the public/community.

What does this mean for you?

-At no time should an exterior door be propped open. The door needs to close behind you and then you need to go back and reopen the door. If you are picking students up from the bus, someone needs to either be at the open door watching who goes in/out or you need to let the door close and you need to come back in.

-If an exterior closes, make sure it closes and clicks. I would check to make sure it is locked.

-If a door is struggling, email Linda (I want it in writing) and she will put in a work order immediately.

-Students should be instructed to NEVER open an outside door for anyone. Not even if they have a badge.

-Any employee you do not recognize in the building or that is not wearing a badge needs to be spoken to. Ask to see their badge or walk them to the front office.

-ALL visitors must be wearing a badge or visitors pass.

-If anyone tries to get in on the side doors, please tell them to go to the front office to check in (this includes CFB employees without a fob to enter the building).
