STAAR Schedule

STAAR Break Schedule, Check-list, and Small Group Schedule (linked here)

Hello,

I know we are all excited for STAAR testing on Tuesday!

Please remember to check student Chromebooks are working and ready for testing.  Students will begin the day in their homerooms.  If they are receiving small group, the proctor will come to your grade level hallway to gather their group.

Your hallway has a designated monitor.  They will be help or get help if you need anything during testing.

I also wanted to give you the opportunity to review the checklist below to make sure you feel prepared for testing.

Please review your testing manual.  Let me know if you do not have one and I will get you one.

Please do not hesitate to come see me if you have any questions.

-Melinda

Additional Reminders…

  • PK-2nd grade: No technology usage. Please help us preserve the bandwidth for 3rd-5th testers.

  • Remember to come and pick up your snacks. It looks like I just have 3rd grade.  All students need to receive their snack BEFORE they move to small group on Tuesday.

  • Recess Grades PK-2 - please stay away from the windows and be mindful when you come in from recess. Students are testing all throughout the building.

  • Recess Grades 3-5 - Recess time is flexible. If this does not work for you, feel free to change the time. Classroom teachers will cover recess. Please do not tell the students they are having recess. It really depends on how long the test takes. If we have a lot of students still testing, we will not be going to recess.

  • All students will go to lunch. Students who are not done with their test will go back to testing after lunch.

  • We will determine how specials will go when the day comes. If the majority of students are still testing, the specials teachers will come and cover your class and monitor the testers. If only a small group of testers are still testing, then we will move the students to another room and the other students will go to specials.

  • Also, make sure to check the room YOU are TESTING in to see if it is ready for testing (clock, curriculum items taken down, appropriate desks and chairs).

We will determine students by those not anticipating passing STAAR, academic progress, and teachers particpating.

April Potluck

Definition of potluck: A communal gathering where each guest or group contributes a different, often homemade, dish of food to be shared. So...if you are planning to eat...make sure you bring a dish to share.

Potluck for April is April 27th . It’s Italian themed here is the sign-up as a reminder.
