Initial ARD Meetings

We are having many initial ARD meetings. Students are qualifying for services but the SPED team is struggling with developing goals and services because they do not know the student. They HAVE to have information from you for the initial ARD.

To help gather the information and to be able to create attainable goals for the students, the SPED team will be scheduling a STAFFING with you prior to the ARD. They will send you a calendar invite with the title Staffing and then the student name (example: Staffing M.Koen). It is important that you attend this meeting.

Please bring the following with you to the meeting:

Student Work

Most Updated Testing Info

Student Strengths

Student Areas of Growth

CARROLLTON ELEMENTARY BUDDY-A-THON

Dear Families and Friends of our school,

We are kicking off our Buddy-A-Thon this Wednesday 2/8! If you would like to get a head start, here are links for two short videos that will give you some information about the program: https://youtu.be/VAXYRZFYD9o and https://youtu.be/QeeR-q9GbOA

Our PTA will use the funds raised for all sorts of things (Water Day, Literacy Night, Math Night, Awards, etc) for our students!

The next step is to use this link: https://bit.ly/3vaDWI1 which

takes you to our school fundraiser website where you can register and set up your student’s personal donation page. On this page, you can invite your family and friends to join our efforts by sending them an email and/or a text.

This entire fundraiser can be completed in less than 10 minutes!

So, please get started and send out 10 or more valid emails/texts via your student's personal donation page so that they can earn their Flying Kung Fu Chicken and a Dexter the Dragon Key Chain (students can wear this at school during our Buddy-A-Thon)! And with some donations, their very own Buddy and possibly some outfits for their Buddy!

Thank you for helping your student help our school!

All personal information will be used for this ONE TIME program to support Carrollton Elementary. This information will be kept confidential and will not be sold, reused, rented, loaned or otherwise disclosed.

PTA Brings a Mobile Planetarium to Carrollton Elementary!

Learning about science through the inflatable, portable planetarium brought plenty of “oohs” and “ahs.” More than that, it inspired our students to engage in a better understanding of the world around them.

In the dome, students traveled through a world of knowledge that includes astronomy, geology, physical geography, and more.

As an R. L. Turner High School freshman, Kacie Brekhus became involved in the Torch Run, benefiting Special Olympics. As a senior, she served as the student coordinator. Kacie died in a traffic accident in October 2003 while a freshman at The University of Texas at Austin.
