CFBISD Family,

CFB schools and offices were closed on January 31 and February 1-3, 2023, due to the winter weather. Tuesday, April 11, 2023, will now be an instructional day for students and staff.

The State of Texas requires a minimum number of instructional minutes each year. Fortunately, our 2022-23 school calendar was built with additional minutes in case the minutes were needed to make up missed days for closures. The additional minutes will cover three of the four instructional days missed due to inclement weather. That leaves one instructional day to make up, and we will use April 11 as the makeup day. This leaves CFBISD with one bad weather day (May 25) if we have another closure.

Early College High School team members will be notified directly regarding the makeup day for their campus.

We are fortunate that the Board of Trustees added a provision in local policy DEA (Local) Compensation and Benefits that allows team members to be paid during an emergency closure. Therefore, January 31, and February 1-2, will not need to be made up, and everyone will receive their regular compensation. As previously stated, we will all work April 11 as a makeup day for February 3.

We appreciate that our Board of Trustees was forward-thinking and modified policy to ensure everyone receives their regular compensation during emergency closures.

Thank you for your support during the winter weather closures as we worked to keep #cfbsafe.

In your service,

Initial ARD Meetings

We are having many initial ARD meetings. Students are qualifying for services but the SPED team is struggling with developing goals and services because they do not know the student. They HAVE to have information from you for the initial ARD.

To help gather the information and to be able to create attainable goals for the students, the SPED team will be scheduling a STAFFING with you prior to the ARD. They will send you a calendar invite with the title Staffing and then the student name (example: Staffing M.Koen). It is important that you attend this meeting.

Please bring the following with you to the meeting:
