Professional Workday Calendar Academic Calendar Paraprofessional Workday Calendar Assessment Calendar Teacher Calendar

Instructional Coaching Calendar District Professional Development Calendar

You are better than you think :-)

After Thanksgiving Break, we have several ARD meetings that need to be scheduled in a short period of time. We will do our best to schedule on Wednesday but we may need to use other days to get all the meetings in. Thank you for your flexibility.

Ribbon Cutting for the Book Machine

Representatives from Atmos Energy and CFB will be here on Tuesday morning to celebrate the opening of the Book Vending Machine. We may ask some staff members and students to join us in this celebration!

We are ready to open the Book Vending Machine!

How does a student get a book? Send them to the office with a Habit Gram! Once they come down, they will receive a token for the vending machine!

Team,

If you are planning on being paid for any extra duties with title one funds, please complete this form.

This includes:

Tutoring

Parent/family Involvement Activities (Spring Conferences, Parent Nights, etc.)

If you are unsure, I would suggest you go ahead and complete the form … you never know 😊

This is for ALL STAFF (paraprofessional and professional).

Thank you,

Monica

Identifying GT Students

I have to say, I am so excited at the number of potential GT students we have at CE!

Here is the presentation that was shared at the meeting on Wednesday.

Thank you for seeing the potential in our students!!!

National Family Pajama Day is Monday! Students and staff can wear school-appropriate pajamas on Monday! If you do not participate, students need to be in uniform.

Feel free to not stress over work attire next week!

Monday - Pajama Day

Tuesday - Warm Up Tuesday called by Cunningham

Wednesday - Warm Up Wednesday

Thursday - Warm Up Thursday called by Peck

Friday - Warm Up Friday called by Diaz

TAG Me

Remember that you are to observe one other grade-level teacher in the Fall and one in the Spring. The semester is almost over and NO ONE wants to be observed the week before Christmas break.

TAG someone soon!

I am understanding when it comes to your time and many times I cancel things so that you have more time to do what you need to do. I know you are busy. I do think this is important to the culture of our campus. We need to learn with and through each other! So, please make sure you get your observation done.

PS - Make sure your sign is hanging outside your door.

ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 15th, I WILL CANCEL TUESDAY TEAM PLANNING SO THAT YOU CAN OBSERVE ANOTHER TEACHER DURING PLANNING. If you would like to use this day to observe, you may. I am giving you some time back.

STAAR 2.0 New Question Types

Beginning with the Spring 2023 STAAR 3-8 & STAAR-EOC administration, students who test online will interact with a variety of new question types in addition to traditional multiple-choice questions. The following table indicates all new question types and the subject areas and grade levels where they will appear: STAAR Redesign New Question Types One Pager

STAAR 2.0 Extended & Short Constructed Responses

❓ Where can I find information @ new evidence-based writing requirement?

To help educators understand how new reading language arts (RLA), science, and social studies constructed response items will be scored, Constructed Response Scoring Guides are now available on the STAAR Redesign webpage under the section Resources to Support New Question Types. The guides include rubrics and real examples of student responses for short and extended constructed response items.

❓ How much is the Extended Constructed Response worth?

ECR (Extended Constructed Response) is worth 10 points. There will be two graders with a maximum of 5 points each.

❓ What is the character count limit for Short Constructed Response (SCR) and Extended Constructed Response (ECR)?

Reading SCR will be 475

Writing SCR will be 475

ECR will be 2300

Good afternoon,

Tutoring can begin!

We are very blessed to be able to pay you for tutoring (most campuses do not)! If you decide to tutor until 4:30, you will be paid for one hour of tutoring.

Please add a tab to the bottom with your name and your students you are tutoring.

Remember, it is important to turn in the form the week you did the work.

Thanks so much!
